Job description

Overview of Position:

As the Communications Associate – South East Asia, you will execute and support the implementation of an integrated communications plan to influence target audiences and enhance the company’s brand reputation in South East Asia. Working closely with our global and regional teams, you will assist in driving publicity outcomes for some of the most exciting sports commercial projects in the region.

As part of the Global Communications team, you will be involved in the coordination of the corporate communications functions across the regional offices, to help ensure alignment with Global directives from London/Paris.

Through writing, research and admin support for client initiatives, this role also requires you to deal directly with external stakeholders if need be – offering excellent exposure to the professional world of sports.

Duties and Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Daily media monitoring and analysis
  • Research on best practices and competitors’ news
  • Support the implementation of communications activities, including conducting research, drafting of media releases and other communication materials, and the coordination of media interviews and photo opportunities
  • Help to uphold the company’s brand reputation in Asia by advising on corporate brand tools and visual identity; to ensure alignment with global communications protocol
  • Assist the team to facilitate new PR opportunities and deliver major announcements and media events
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to manage or deliver projects, including brand ads, digital and social media initiatives and campaigns, and support their efforts to promote the company’s events
  • Provide ideas and identify PR opportunities for the business, as well as manage the execution of these initiatives
  • Co-manage the company’s global website
  • Assist in delivering internal communications initiatives, including internal programmes and managing the organisation’s quarterly APAC newsletter

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field
  • At least 1 – 2 years of communications experience in a multinational company; prior experience as a journalist or in a PR agency will be an advantage.
  • Interest in the sports industry – a general knowledge of sports and global affairs will be helpful
  • Strong writing credentials across multiple genres including press releases, articles, social media copy etc.
  • Creative storyteller who can shape complex concepts into relevant and engaging messages
  • Resourceful individual with strong initiative
  • A person of integrity and maturity who can handle sensitive information
  • Proficiency in a second language will be an advantage 

**Successful applicants in the first round will be required to undergo a writing test.
